Matt Barker

Matt Barker currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Communication at Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson,TN.

He has worked at Freed-Hardeman since 2013 and has served as a Professor of Communication since 2018. Barker is a 2006 graduate of Freed-Hardeman University, where he earned a degree in Broadcast Communication. He later obtained his Master’s Degree in Corporate Communication from Austin Peay State University in 2009 and completed a Ph.D. in Leadership from Johnson University in 2023.

Matt has been married to his wife, Lauren, for nearly 20 years. They have two children, Riley (16) and Holland (13). The Barker family attends the Henderson Church of Christ, where he serves as a deacon.

Matt is the host of the Playing With A Purpose Podcast and one of the co-hosts on the Navigating The 4 Podcast.
